L'ho visto su qualche blog, ho seguito il link e sono approdata sul blog di Simona: mi ha subito intrigato l'idea di scattare una foto a settimana secondo un proprio filo conduttore.

Ho già scelto il mio: la macrofotografia e la profondità di campo.

Voglio studiare meglio i concetti di profondità di campo, fuoco sui dettagli e macrofotografia.

Ecco la mia foto per la prima settimana.

I've seen it on some blogs and I was immediately intrigued by the idea of taking a picture a week about a specifica thread. I've already chosen mine: macro and depth of field.
I want to study the concepts of depth of field, focus on detail and macro.
Here is my photo for the first week.

Prima che la Befana si porti via tutte le feste (anche se per me finiscono sempre il 10 gennaio, con il mio compleanno) vi mostro il mio albero di quest'anno. Ho voluto fare una versione più leggera e ariosa, con tante piccole palline rosse e i soliti ornamenti Thun, cui quest'anno si sono aggiunti due ornamenti Egan, regalo di mio papà. Li vedete?

Before the Epiphany will take away holidays (although I always end them on January 10, my birthday) I show you my Christmas tree this made year. I wanted to do a more light and airy tree, with lots of little red balls and the usual Thun ornaments, with the addiction of two new Egan ornaments, a gift from my daddy. Do you see them?

Non è bellissimo quando le amiche ti vengono a trovare? Sì, ma lo è ancora di più se è l'occasione per rinsaldare una vecchia amicizia come mai lo era potuta essere prima. Io e Silvia ci siamo sempre "trovate simpatiche" ed ogni volta che ci capitava di ritrovarci era sempre un gran chiacchierare e divertirsi; ma poi io mi sono trasferita, e le occasioni di rivedersi si facevano sempre più rade, anche se ci tenevamo un po' in contatto via mail. Quest'estate l'ho invitata a passare una settimana a casa mia e lei, con mio grande piacere, ha accettato!

Isn't wonderful when friends come to visit you, is it? Yes, but it's even more if it is an opportunity to strengthen an old friendship as never it had been used to be first. Whenever Silvia and I find ourselves together, we always had a great chat and fun. But then I moved, and opportunities to meet again became more and more sparse, although we kept a little in touch via email. This summer, I invited her to spend a week at my house and she, to my great delight, accepted!

Così è stata l'occasione per ritrovarci, riscoprire e scoprire tante cose che in passato non avevamo mai approfondito, le ho fatto conoscere una piccola porzione d'Abruzzo e... le ho dato qualche lezione di cucina. Mi ha persino fatto un regalo a tema, senza prevederlo.
So it was an opportunity to meet, discover and learn many things in the past we had never thorough, I showed her a small portion of Abruzzo and... I gave her some cooking lessons. She even gifted me this lovely kit according to the cooking lessons theme, without predictable.

Mi sembra strano dedicarmi al post sulle ricette di Luglio, ripensare a quel caldo assurdo con il freddo, altrettanto assurdo, che sta facendo qui oggi. Stamani sulla montagna di fronte c'era la neve... Ma tant'è, son rimasta indietro ed è ora di recuperare un po'.
It seems strange to post the recipes of July with the cold is doing here today. This morning I saw snow on the mountain in front my windows... But anyhow, it's time to catch up.
La prima ricetta del mese sperimentata l'ho trovata sul magazine della Co*nad, una sfoglia alle pesche senza zuccheri aggiunti, lodevole nelle intenzioni ma sciapa nel contenuto, e non siamo nemmeno tipi da dessert troppo dolci...
I found the first recipe tested of the month I found the magazine in the Co*nad magazine, a Sugar-free peach puff, praiseworthy in the intentions but insipid in the content.

Decisamente un'altra riuscita, ottima, queste madeleins al cappuccino: appena ho trovato lo stampo (anche se avrei preferito fosse in silicone) l'ho volute subito fare e sono venute soffici e saporite, ma con le ricette di Erika si va sempre sul sicuro.
These cappuccino madeleines definitely have a different success, high: as I found the mold I just wanted to make them, they came soft and tasty, but Erika's recipes are always a guarantee.

Una ricetta antica, trovata su Cook & the City. ma molto buoni e molto... gialli, questi biscottini del Lago Maggiore con tuorli sodi, mi son divertita a farli di diverse forme.
These Lake Maggiore biscuits with boiled yolks are so funny so yellow so good, recipe from Cook & the City.

La torta di soli albumi di Marble è molto versatile: questa l'ho fatta con farina di riso e rhum.
The only egg whites cake is really versatile cake: I made this with almond flour & rum, recipe by Marble.

Un giorno di Luglio si vede che il caldo m'ha dato alla testa e ho acceso il forno per fare i donuts alle patate e i bomboloni ripieni di Nutella. Non ricordo dove ho trovato la ricetta, ma ma non mi preoccupo: si son seccati subito ed io personalmente li ho trovati stopposi. Croce sopra.
One day in July I got crazy and turned on the oven to make these baked donuts with potatoes and baked buns stuffed with Nutella. I do not remember where I found the recipe, but I do not care: they dried too fast and I personally found them too stringy. Cross over.

Questa ricetta la fa sempre un amico del mio fidanzato quando torna a Capestrano e invita gli amici a cena: riso bomba e spezzatino speziato. Marcos m'ha dato la ricetta del riso ma non m'è venuto esattamente uguale, lo studierò all'opera la prossima volta che ci invita a cena e gli porto il tiramisù.
A friend of my fiance always cooks this recipe when he returned to Capestrano and invite friends for dinner. Marcos has given me the recipe for rice but when I cooked it it hasn't exactly the same flavour. I will study him at work better next time...

Con le tartelettes si va sempre sul sicuro: ho fatto queste con gocce di cioccolato nell'impasto e le ho riempite di crema al mascarpone, seguendo a modo mio la ricetta di Sara.
With tartelettes I always play it safe: I made these chocolate chips into the mixture and I filled with mascarpone cream, following someway Sara's recipe.

La fretta è sempre cattiva consigliera, soprattutto in cucina quando si vuole preparare una pietanza che richiede più passaggi. Ho fatto questi biscotti all'orzo con gelato, seguendo un po' la ricetta di Sara, ma era sera tardi e non ho dato il tempo necessario alla crema gelato, mea culpa.
Haste is always a bad counselor, especially in kitchen when you want to prepare a dish that requires multiple steps. I made these barley cookies with ice cream, following a bit a Sara's recipe, but it was late night and I have not given to the ice cream the time requested, mea culpa.

Questo e il dolce a seguire li ho fatti su commissione per una signora sudafricana. Devo dire che il plumcake con l'uvetta è una variante che finora non avevo mai fatto.
I made this cake and the following cone on commission for a lady of South Africa. This raisin plumcake is a variant that I had never cooked so far.

Se non mi fosse stato richiesto, dubito avrei mai provato a fare la versione supercioccolatosa di questi brownies. La signora m'ha detto che ha fatto un successone con i suoi ospiti.
If I had not been asked, I doubt I ever tried to make these so-chocolate brownies. The lady told me she made a hit with her guests.

Mi sembra di averlo già detto che le ricette di Erika sono supercollaudate, vero? Ebbene, gli spaghetti con le vongole fresche hanno scalato a razzo la mia classifica di piatti preferiti. Gustosi e dal sapore pieno, con quel profumo di mare che t'inebria durante la preparazione e ti distrae più volte... L'unico problema è che li posso fare solo il mercoledì, quando viene il pescivendolo di fiducia e solo quando ho ospiti che apprezzano il pesce, gruppo in cui decisamente non si può annoverare il mio adorato fidanzato, SIGH.
I have already said that Erika's recipes are super-safe, right? Well, the spaghetti with fresh clams easily climbed the ranking of my favorite dishes. Tasty and full, with the scent of sea which surrounds you during preparation...

La stessa sera che ho cucinato per la prima volta gli spaghetti con le vongole fresche, ho preparato anche queste seppie alla piastra, usando la marinatura suggerita nella ricetta di FeelCook... Buone ma un po' deboli rispetto la ricchezza di sapori della pasta che le ha precedute, sicuramente meritano un secondo assaggio "in solitaria".
The same evening I cooked the spaghetti with fresh clams for the first time, I have prepared grille squids as well, using the marinating recipe suggested by FeelCook... Good but a little weak compared to the rich flavors of the pasta that preceded them, they definitely worth a second taste on their own.

Bellissimi questi vanilla melting moments, vero? La ricetta è di Misya. Peccato che ho voluto accoppiarli usando il caramello salato, peccato che l'abbia fatto cuocere troppo, peccato che il caramello sia diventato tostissimo. Da rifare, ma con più attenzione.
These vanilla melting moments are beautiful, aren't they? The recipe is by Misya. Too bad that I wanted to match them using the salty caramel, too bad I overcooked it, too bad the caramel has become too hard. To be repeated, but with more attention.

Siamo quasi alla fine di questo post chilometrico. Non m'ero resa conto di aver provato tante ricette in luglio... Questo clafoutis alle pesche è stato fatto sulla ricetta base modificata (quella originale è di Misya) del clafoutis di ciliegie. Gradevole ma non altrettanto goloso.
We are almost at the end of this mileage post. I had not realized that I had tested so many recipes in July... This peaches clafoutis has been done on the basis of modified recipe (the original on is by Misya) of cherries clafoutis. Pleasant but not so tasty.

Altra variante della torta di soli albumi di Marble fatta con orzo, granella di nocciole e rhum, è perfetta per la colazione.
Another variant of the only egg whites cake by Marble made with barley, hazelnut and rum, is perfect for breakfast.

Prima di lasciarvi, vi mostro la foderina fatta alla chiave della mia macchina, che ha l'anello in alto rotto. Semplice, velocissima da fare e colorata con questa stoffa a pois rossi.

Decisamente sto peggiorando parecchio con i miei ritardi nel postare! In effetti l'estate per me è sempre piuttosto convulsa, tra parenti e amici che mi vengono a trovare, le novità ed i gattini piccoli che puntualmente mi ritrovo a seguire, in un modo o nell'altro. Ma la cronaca della mia estate, con adeguata documentazione fotografica, sarà parte di un altro post, per ora mi preme recuperare le ricette di Giugno.
I'm definitely getting worse with my delay in posting! In fact the summer is always pretty hectic for me, including relatives and friends who come to see me, news and young kittens who I regularly follow, in one way or another. But the chronicle of my summer, with adequate photographic documentation, will be part of another post, for now I'll retrieve the recipes of June.
Anche Nanà si vergogna per il mio scandaloso ritardo nel postare...
Even Nanà is ashamed for my scandalous delay in posting...

Questi minicroissant con il ripieno di crema di pistacchi sono stati un esperimento, ma il sapore di pistacchi era debole, si facevano mangiare ma niente di più.
These minicroissant stuffed with pistachio cream were an experiment, but the pistachio flavor was weak, edible but nothing more.

Decisamente più gradevoli questi spaghetti di riso saltati con verdure, ricetta di Cotto e mangiato, provata più che altro per far fuori un po' di verdure rimaste in frigo.
Much more pleasant these rice noodles fried with vegetables, recipe from Cooken and Eaten, tried to take out a little 'left of vegetables in the fridge.

Questo clafoutis è la ricetta che mi ha "fatto fare pace" con la cucina francese: elementare nell'esecuzione, svela un gusto genuino ma raffinato! Rispetto alla ricetta di Misya ho fatto un paio di modifiche, tra cui la sostituzione del latte con la panna, per un gusto più rotondo.
With this clafoutis recipe I "made peace" with French cooking: basic execution, reveals a genuine taste but smart! Compared to Misya's recipe I made a few changes, including the replacement of milk with the cream, for a fuller taste.

Non c'è niente da fare: l'estate è la stagione migliore per farsi una bella crostata di crema e frutta fresca. L'ho fatta un po' ad occhio, l'anno prossima sarà un problema rifarla allo stesso modo. Ne ho fatte anche delle versioni tartellettes.
Let's tell the truth: summertime is the best season to bake a good pie with cream and fresh fruit. I made it without a specific recipe, next year I'll have a problem re-doing it the same way. I've also made tartellette versions.

Mi ha colpito subito questa torta fredda alle mele di Cotto e mangiato, perfetta per il caldo che stava già facendo. L'ho preparata per offrirla ai colleghi del mio fidanzato mentre faceva lo scrutatore, e m'hanno detto che non è arrivata a sera.
I was struck once I saw this cold apple pie, from Cooken and Eaten, perfect for the heat that was already doing. I prepared it to be offered by my fiance to his cscrutinizing colleagues, and they told me it was finished before evening...

Mi piace sempre provare prodotti nuovi, e quando ho scovato l'ultimo prodotto Cameo per fare il caffè freddo non ho potuto resistere. Ne ho fatto la prima versione liscia al cioccolato e caffè, ma la seconda volta ho usato il preparato normale e l'ho corretto con il Bailey's. C'è bisogno di dirlo che l'ho rifatto diverse altre volte? Naturalmente, nella seconda versione!
I always like to try new products, and when I spotted the latest Cameo product to make iced coffee, I could not resist. I did the first simple version of chocolate and coffee, but the second time I used the normal preparation and added the Bailey's. I need to specify I did it again several more times? Of course, in the second version!

Per questa ricetta, ho usato un rotolo di frolla già pronto e preparato un ripieno con le albicocche fresche: un successo!
For this recipe, I used a ready pastry roll and filled it with a fresh apricot cream: a success!

La focaccia di Anemone provata il mese scorso è diventata una habitué a casa nostra, ma l'ho modificata sostituendo parte della farina con quella integrale e un altro paio di piccole modifiche.
The Anemone's focaccia tested last month has become a regular at our house, but I modified it by replacing part of the flour with an integral one and a few other small changes.

Altra ricettina salata, questa volta di Sara, che io ho personalizzato facendole a mo' di focaccine e aggiungendo prosciutto a cubetti.
Another savory recipe, this time by Sara, which I customized making them like scones and adding diced ham.

Infine, l'ultima ricetta nuova provata sono queste deliziose, d'aspetto e di gusto, tortine alle ciliegie; la ricetta è di Erika, una garanzia! Ho anche collaudato le formine in silicone della Silikomart, devo dire che sono comodissime.
Finally, the last new recipe tried are these delicious, for appearance and taste, cherry mini pies; the recipe is by Erika, a guarantee! I also tested the silicone molds from Silikomart, I found them really comfortable.

Come promesso, eccomi tornata con le ricette sperimentate a Maggio. Sto migliorando con i miei ritardi nel postare, no? In realtà ho atteso la risposta dell'autrice della grafica prima di postare, perché quando l'ho scoperta la volevo assolutamente abbinare al mio successivo post di cucina, e Susan è stata così carina da acconsentire, ma troverete link e credits alla fine del post. Cominciamo?
As promised, I'm back with the recipes tested in May. I'm getting better with my delay in posting, right? In fact I preferred to wait the positive answer by the author of the graphic before posting, because when I discovered her I really wanted to match my cooking next post to her lovely designs, and Susan was so nice to agree, but you will find the links and credits at the end of the post. Questa versatile torta di soli albumi l'ho fatta per la colazione del primo giorno del mese, ricetta di Marble: è perfetta per riciclare gli albumi dimenticati qualche giorno in frigo e la si può personalizzare mettendoci dentro quello che si vuole o si deve usare in dispensa, questa l'ho fatta semplice con le gocce di cioccolato.
I made this versatile cake with only egg whites for the first day of the month's breakfast, recipe by Marble: it is perfect for recycling eforgotten a few days in the fridge and putting in you can customize what you want or need to use in pantry, this one I made simple with chocolate chips.

Anche questa torta sfoglia, ricetta di Gnam-Gnam, è alquanto versatile, tanto che ne ho fatto la versione "classica" con le mele...
Although this pastry pie, recipe from Gnam-Gnam, is quite versatile, so much that I have made the "classic" version with apples....

... e quest'altra modificata alle pere e cioccolato, sono piaciute molto entrambe. Grazie ad Elena per questa gustosa ricetta!

Questa ricetta di Silva meriterebbe da sola un post a parte, avendomi fatto "fare pace" con le torte al cioccolato ed essendo un autentico concentrato di bontà e scioglievolezza senza essere stucchevole: è la Mississipi mud pie, che io ho fatto al doppio cioccolato riciclando un po' di cioccolato delle uova di Pasqua.
This Silva's recipe would deserve a separate post by itself, having me "make peace" with chocolate cakes and being a real concentrate of goodness and melting without being cloying: it is the Mississippi mud pie, that I made double chocolate recycling some Easter eggs' chocolate.

E sempre per riciclare le uova di Pasqua, ho fatto una nuova versione del tiramisù ai cinque cereali provato il mese scorso, grattuggiando un po' di cioccolato fondente ad ogni strato. Devo confessare che il gusto è rimasto pressocché invariato, anche se l'aspetto con le scagliette di cioccolato tagliato al coltello è piaciuto.
And always to recycle Easter eggs, I made a new version of tiramisu to five grains biscuits tried last month, adding a little grated dark chocolate at every layer. I must confess that taste remained almost unchanged, although the appearance of knife cutted chocolate chips liked.

Ho rifatto anche la lemon curd di Erika, questa volta con il burro chiarificato come da ricetta ed è venuta perfetta. L'ho poi usata per una nuova versione della torta di soli albumi, aggiungendo anche amaretti e rum.
I also remade Erika's lemon curd, this time with the clarified butter as the recipe and it came perfect. I then used it for a new version of the just whites egg cake, adding amaretti and rum.

Ma nel mese di Maggio non ho preparato solo dolci, ovviamente. Ho cucinato questo merluzzo fresco con olive verdi e nere, capperi e pomodorini. Il sapore era buono ma mi è rimasta la puzza di pesce per due giorni in casa, un po' troppo considerando che il fidanzato non mangia pesce né sopporta il suo odore.
But in the month of May I have not cooked only sweets, of course. I prepared this cod with green and black olives, capers and tomatoes. The flavor was good but its smell of fish remained two days at home.

Era molto tempo che non facevo il galletto amburghese e l'ho preparato al forno sfumandolo con lo spumante e con un contorno di peperoni fritti con olive, un piatto gustoso cotto nel mio nuovo forno!
It was a long time since I cooked my last Hamburg cockerel and I baked it blending with the sparkling wine and serving it with fried peppers with olives, a tasty dish cooked in my new oven!

Ebbene sì: erano anni che volevo cambiarmi forno e piano cottura ma non mi decidevo mai perché erano incassati, lo spazio ristretto e le soluzioni alternative non mi soddisfacevano. Poi un giorno ho visto questa cucina, i fuochi era decentrati dimodoché, pur essendo solo quattro, ci si può cucinare agevolmente. Il negozio in cui l'ho vista la vendeva ad un prezzo sospettosamente alto, così tornata a casa ho girato un po' su internet e l'ho trovata in promozione su Elettrodomo, con spese di trasporto incluse. Che dire: il forno ha una quantità di funzioni impensabili con quello vetusto che avevo io, le torte non mi si bruciano più sul fondo, lo sportello ha tre vetri temperati smontabili e ha persino l'autopulitura a vapore.
I wanted to change my oven and stove from years, but I haven't decided to do before because they old were never cashed, the space tight and workarounds didn't satisfy me. Then one day I saw this kitchen, the fires are decentralized so that, although only four, I can cook easily. The store where I saw it sells it at the suspiciously high price, so once back home I turned a bit on the internet and I found it in promotion at Elettrodomo, transportation charges included! What I can say, the oven has a number of features not possible with the very old that I had, I do not burn bottom cakes anymore, the door has three removable tempered glasses and even the self-cleaning steam.

Altra ricettina salata preparata per impratichirmi con le funzioni del nuovo forno sono questi muffin alle zucchine di Misya che io ho personalizzato un po' aggiungendo prosciutto e facendone alcuni con i funghi champignon. Molto buoni, specialmente quelli con le zucchine che danno un tocco "fresco".
Another savory recipe prepared to test the functions of my new oven is these muffins with courgettes of Misya that I have customized a little adding ham and making some with mushrooms. Very good.

Infine, l'ultima ricetta nuova provata è questa focaccia che Anemone chiama "povera" ma che è ricchissima di gusto. Assolutamente da provare, io l'ho già rifatta in un'altra versione ed è uscita sempre gustosissima.
Finally, the last recipe I tried is this focaccia which Anemone calls "poor" but it is very rich in taste. I've already redone in another version and it came out always tasty.

Questa crostata di ricotta non è una novità ma erano anni che non la rifacevo (il moroso non mangia formaggi ed io son diventata intollerante ai formaggi freschi) e mio fratello ha una pasisone per questa torta fatta con la ricotta di pecora abruzzese DOC.
This ricotta tart is not new but it has been years I cooked it (my fiance doesn't eat cheese and I am becomed intolerant to fresh cheese) but my brother is crazy for this cake made with ricotta of Abruzzo DOC.

La mia "happy dance" del mese è stata questo Beach Cottage, partito come SAL del mio blog Fallen in love with LHN and CCN patterns e poi rimasto lì a languire. Ho modificato un po' di cose rispetto all'originale, usando in particolare solo filati di seta e tagliando la parte sotto, ed ora è appeso all'ingresso.
My "happy dance" of the month was the Beach Cottage, started as SAL in my blog Fallen in love with LHN and CCN patterns and then left somewhere to languish. I've changed it a bit, especially using only silk yarns and cutting the portion below, and now it is hanged at home entrance.

Dovrei essere qui a mostrarvi le ricette di Maggio, ma in realtà mancano ancora quelle di Aprile, che scandalo. A mia scusa posso addurre il fatto che il mese scorso è stato davvero impegnativo, con muratori e gente che andava e veniva in continuazione, e la visita prolungata di mio padre.

Ma torniamo all'ordine cronologico con questi muffin salati: la ricetta di Anna Maria prevedeva di farli solo con prosciutto, invece ne ho fatti la metà con la pancetta, e per differenziarli ho inaugurato il secondo stampo acquistato tempo fa su Plurimix point.
Back to the chronological order with these savory muffins: Anna Maria's recipe provided only to have them with ham, but I made half with the bacon, and to differentiate the second I used the mold recently purchased at Plurimix point.

Saltando a piè pari il mio disastroso esperimento sui macarons e l'altrettanto fallimentare esperimento di riciclo dei macarons, questi biscotti di Sabrine dovevano essere fatti con la farina di castagne a cui io ho preferito quella di riso. Il risultato è stato ottimo, ho inaugurato anche lo stampo "handmade" che Sabrine mi ha così gentilmente aiutato a trovare su internet. Grazie ;)

Skipping my disastrous experiment on macarons and the equally unsuccessful experiment in recycling of macaroons, these cookies by Sabrine had to be made with chestnut flour but I preferred the rice one. The result was excellent, I also opened the mold "handmade" which Sabrine so kindly helped me to find on the internet. Thanks ;)

Altrettanto goloso e molto calorico è questo tiramisù fatto con i cinque cereali che ho preparato per il pranzo di Pasqua. Mi aveva molto incuriosito questa ricetta vista su La Dolcetteria, perché i savoiardi non mi hanno mai convinto fino in fondo, ed ora che ho provato questa ricetta, il tiramisù lo farò sempre così. Ho solo modificato una cosetta nella crema per farla più gialla.

Equally delicious and very caloric is this tiramisu made with the five grains biscuits that have prepared for Easter lunch. I was very curious about this recipe found on La Dolcetteria, because the ladyfingers has never convinced me, and now that I've tried this recipe, I will not turn back. I just changed a little thing in the cream to make it more yellow.

Sempre per il pranzo della scorsa Pasqua ho preparato queste torte salate ai carciofi e ai funghi, mia variante, ricetta di Misya. Sono piaciute entrambe a tutti.

Also for the lunch of last Easter I made this quiches with artichokes and mushrooms, my variant, a Misya's recipe. Everybody liked both them very much.

Non so da voi, ma qui piove e fa il temporale ogni benedetto giorno... Mi sento proprio come il gattino qui sopra. Ma bando alle ciance e vediamo di recuperare un po' con le foto già postate su Flickr ma lasciate lì.

Possibile che sia sempre in ritardo cronico con i post?! Succede anche a voi?

I do not know about you, but here it's stormy and rainy every blessed day... I feel just like the kitten above. But no more talk, it's tome to see the pictures already posted on Flickr, but left there.
Can it be I'm always chronically late with posts?! It happens the same to you?
Come suggerisce il titolo del post, le foto saranno a tema libri. Io odio fare shopping di vestiario, borse e scarpe, ma se c'è uno shopping a cui non resisto è quello di libri. In queste ultime settimane, tra libri consigliati, scovati e desiderati, ne ho fatta una bella incetta, e infatti ho dovuto riorganizzare un po' la libreria nello studio e in cucina per farceli entrare.
As the title of the post, the photos will be about books. I hate shopping for clothes, bags and shoes, but I cannot resist to book shopping. In recent weeks, including recommended books, found and desired, I have done a better stock up, and in fact I had to rearrange a bit my libraries to make them fit.
Partiamo da quelli "creativi" e di narrativa. Questi libri, acquistati alcuni su Libreria universitaria altri su Amazon.it, risalgono addirittura al Gennaio scorso (sono davvero scandalosa!!). Ho già letto A neve ferma (in alto a sinistra), che mi è piaciuto molto, e il primo delle Cronache del ghiaccio e del fuoco, a cui mi sono appassionata, tanto che nella seconda foto vedete il successivo, con l'ennesimo libro di Camilleri, e nella terza altri volumi della stessa saga con l'ultimo di Sookie Stackhouse, immancabile per una fan come me di True Blood.
These books, bought up some on Amazon.it others on Libreria universitaria, are dated back to January (I'm really scandalous!). I've already read A neve ferma (upper left), which I liked a lot, and the first of A Song of Ice and Fire, which I am passionate about, so that in the second picture you see the next one, with yet another book Camilleri, and in the third photo other volumes of the same saga with the last of Sookie Stackhouse, a must for me as a fan of True Blood.

I libri di Camilleri non mancano nemmeno in questi due acquisti, con il terzo volume della Confraternita del Pugnale nero ed un libro di country living, preso per cercare una soluzione diversa per la mia cucina in previsione di un cambiamento, effettuato qualche giorno fa, ma ve lo farò vedere un'altra volta.
Camilleri's books are not lacking even in these two purcahses, with the third volume of the Black Dagger Brotherhood and a book of country living, got to find a different solution for my kitchen in anticipation of a change, made a few days ago, but I'll show it in next posts.

Altro acquisto su Amazon.it: quelli in alto e il router Netgear che sto usando con la nuova connessione internet; il libro del noto attore l'ho visto in svendita un giorno ad un supermercato a Pescara e mi sono incuriosita, e devo dire che è stato divertente, trovate la mia recensione nella mia libreria su aNoobi come sempre.

Other purchase on Amazon.it:the two above and the Netgear router I am using with the new connection; on the bottom right, the book of the famous actor, I've seen it on sale one day at a supermarket in Pescara and I was intrigued, and I must say it was fun.

Be', mi rendo conto che l'unico libro creativo acquistato di recente è uno solo, ma considerando l'incetta precedente non mi posso proprio lamentare... Unico ma assolutamente degno di nota, e uscito lo scorso Maggio, questo atteso libro di Amy Adams è bellissimo: dettagliato, ricco di progetti carinissimi e adatti a tutte le abilità. Sicuramente ci farò una recensione sul blog Book Tours. A proposito, avete visto l'ultima?

Well, I've just realized that I've bought only one creative book recently, but considering the stock up before I can not just complain... Unique but absolutely remarkable, and released last May, this book by Amy Adams is simply wonderful: detailed, full of cute projects and suitable for all abilities. Surely I'll review it on Book Tours Blog. By the way, have you seen the latest one?

Ed ora, per le più golose, passiamo ai libri di cucina.
I due libri di The Hummingbird Bakery mi sono stati consigliati, e del primo ho già realizzato i cupcakes, che a me son piaciuti molto ma il frosting era effettivamente troppo dolce. Me ne dovrò ricordare quando proverò qualche ricetta di quello nuovo. Anche l'altro libro sui cupcakes deriva da una famosa pasticceria, anch'essa londinese.
Il libro sui macarons l'ho scelto accuratamente, leggendo tutti i commenti lasciati dagli utenti di Amazon sui vari libri in circolazione, e poi quando ho provati a farli la prima fallimentare volta non l'ho usato, ahaha!
Infine il libro della Ashwell è un caposaldo sullo shabby chic, ma confesso che ho avuto a malapena il tempo di sfogliarne l'inizio.

And now, for the most greedy, let's move to cookbooks.
The two books of The Hummingbird Bakery have been recommended to me, and from the first I made the cupcakes, which I liked a lot but the frosting was actually too sweet. I will have to remember it when I'll try some recipes for the new one.
The other book on cupcakes comes from a famous pastry shop, also in London. I chose carefully the book on macarons, reading all the comments left by Amazon users about the various books in circulation, and then when I tried to make macarons the first time I have not used it, ahaha!
Finally, the book by Ashwell is a landmark on the shabby chic, but I confess that I had barely the time to browse the beginning.

Siccome io non mi mangio la maggior parte dei dolci che cucino, e il fidanzato non se li può mangiare da solo, spesso regalo fette e dolcetti a vicine ed amiche. Così, quando ho visto due libri a tema, quello della Sigrid che già conoscevo ed un altro della Loaldi, e per di più in promozione... be', come resistere? Il libro della Andrieu mi è stato vivamente consigliato dalla cara Viola, e devo dire che è bellissimo e... pesantissimo! Pesa una tombola!

Since I do not eat most of the sweets that I cook, and my fiance cannot eat them alone, often I gift slices and sweets to neighbors and friends. So when I saw these two books on that subject, one of Sigrid I already knew and another of Loaldi, in sale ... well, how could I resist? Andrieu's book I was strongly advised by my dear friend Viola, and I must say that it is beautiful and... heavy! You would not think that a book contained in size is so much heavy!

Anche questi due sono un po' in tema regalo, essendo incentrato su dolcetti piccoli e sfiziosi, monoporzione e "portatili". Devo ancora provare qualche ricetta, sono tra gli ultimi arrivi.

These two are a bit themed gift, being focused on small and delicious cakes, single portions and "portable". I have yet to try a recipe, they are among the latest arrivals.

Con molto ritardo sulla tabella di marcia eccomi a presentarvi le ricettine nuove provate nel mese di Marzo: tra le festività e gli impegni vari dovuti alla pratica per i lavori di ristrutturazione a seguito del terremoto di due anni fa, il tempo da dedicare al blog è stato davvero esiguo. E le scartoffie mi hanno tenuta un po' lontana dal forno durante il mese passato.
I'm very late on introducing you the new recipes tested during the month of March: due to the holidays and various commitments to the practice for refurbishment following the earthquake of two years ago, the time to devote to the blog was really poor. And the papers have kept me a bit far out of the oven during the past month.
La prima ricetta del mese che ho provato sono stati questi biscotti al latte, miele e gocce di cioccolato di Sara che io ho fatto in forma di fiocchi. Le gocce di cioccolato le ho aggiunte io in fase di lavorazione perché erano un po' deboli... di golosità.
The first recipe of the month I've tried was these cookies with milk, honey and chocolate chips I made in shape of flakes by Sara. The chocolate chips were added during processing because they were a bit weak of appetite.

Mi hanno colpito subito appena le ho viste sul blog di Laura: queste cassatelle di Agira alle noci hanno riscosso un successone. Rispetto alla ricetta originale, ho preferito le noci alle mandorle e ho dimezzato le dosi, ma nonostante questo ne sono venute una quantità industriale che ho regalato ad amici vari che hanno a loro volta offerto ai loro amici. Dopo due ore e mezza a comporle non ce la facevo più!!
I was just tickled when I saw them on Laura's blog: these cassatelle of Agira with walnuts have been a great success. Compared to the original recipe, I prefer the walnuts to almonds and I halved the dose, but despite this I have gotten such an industry quantity that I have given to various friends who have offered themselves to their friends.

Una delle cose più belle che ho scoperto grazie alla ritrovata voglia di cucinare e provare ricette nuove sono i contatti con le food bloggers: sono sempre gentili, disponibili, ti rispondono quando chiedi chiarimenti su una ricetta proposta. Insomma, sono come le loro golosità: buonissime! Colgo l'occasione per ringraziare tutte le ragazze di cui ho provate le ricette!
In alcuni casi, poi, si scoprono affinità elettive e desiderio di conoscersi meglio: galeotta fu questa ricetta dei cookies al doppio cioccolato e noci che, usciti una prima volta piuttosto diversi dall'originale, mi ha fatto scoprire che le ricette non sono l'unica cosa squisita di Viola.
One of the most beautiful things I've discovered thanks to the newfound desire to cook and try new recipes are contacts with the food bloggers: they are always friendly, helpful, they answer when you ask for clarification on a recipe. In short, they are like their recipes: lovely! I take this opportunity to thank all the girls of who I try the recipes!
In some cases, then, I discovered affinities and wish to know better: these two chocolate and walnuts cookies were galley when the first time they come out quite different from the original, and I did discover that the recipes are not the only thing exquisite of the dear Viola.
Vi propongo entrambe le versioni fatte, e vi confesso che sono diventati in assoluto i miei biscotti preferiti, assieme a quelli alla maizena, ma quelli sono un'altra storia e per un altro motivo, che un giorno vi racconterò.
I show you both versions I made, and I confess they have become my absolute favorite cookies, along with those with cornstarch, but those are another story and another reason that one day I will tell you.

Oggi io e il moroso festeggiamo ben dieci anni di fidanzamento e, visto che è anche venerdì di Quaresima, abbiamo deciso di andare fuori a cena con una sera d'anticipo. Sulla strada per raggiungere il ristorante abbiamo incrociato due giovani caprioli che giocavano a fare la lotta. Non ho voluto provare a fotografarli per non innervosirli né spaventarli, e di notte con la fotocamera del cellulare non so comunque cosa ne sarebbe uscito.

Today my fiance and I are celebrating ten years of engagement and, because it is a Lent friday too, we decided to go out to dinner one evening in advance. On the way to the restaurant we met two young deers playing fighting. La prima ricetta del mese son stati questi nodoni alla marmellata di prugne e alle pere fatte come variante a quello alla Nutella di Marble già sperimentata a Gennaio.

Questi originali crackers integrali aromatizzati sono invece di Chiara Maci, io ho aggiunto solo un po' di origano all'impasto. Sono buoni per diversi giorni.
These original wholemeal flavored crackers are from Chiara Maci, I just added a bit of oregano to the mixture. They are good for several days.

Questa zuppa è la variante con le lenticchie della zuppa di ceci, ma non ha fatto lo stesso successo. Probabilmente devo cambiare il tipo di lenticchie.

L'unica torta di Febbraio è una ricetta di Cotto e Mangiato: il crumble di pere. Fatto per la necessità di finire il panettone di Natale, è piaciuto abbastanza ma non ha suscitato nemmeno grossi entusiasmi. Il prossimo anno dovrò pensare ad una variante ;)
The only pie made in February is a recipe from Cooked and Eaten: the pear crumble. Thanks to the need to finish the Christmas panettone, it have been quite liked but without great enthusiasm. Next year I'll have to think about a valid variant ;)

Concludo con una focaccia ripiena al ragù, una variante non bene riuscita dei panzerotti, e questi bei biscottini ripieni di Nutella, la ricetta base è quella dei cuor di mela di Sara.

Uno dei proponimenti dell'anno nuovo era di continuare la vena creativa in cucina e realizzare almeno una ricetta nuova ogni settimana. Vediamo la produzione di Gennaio.
Le prime tre ve le ho già mostrate, preparate per l'Epifania: i cornettini salati a vari gusti e le trecce lievitate, una alla Nutella e l'altra alle pesche sciroppate.
Avete visto anche i cuor di mela fatti per gli ospiti al mio compleanno, quindi direi che è ora di proseguire.

Non si possono fare sempre dolci, così mi sono buttata anche sul salato, questi sono i grissini sfogliati al gorgonzola, li ho fatti anche al prosciutto cotto per il fidanzato. Ricetta di Cotto e Mangiato rimaneggiata.

Non sono deliziosi quelli tagliati a metà a forma di rosa (idea presa da Cotto e Mangiato)? Ho usato la forma mostrata qui.

Torniamo al dolce: queste pere ingabbiate le ho fatte per il fidanzato. Praticamente sono fagottini di pasta sfoglia con pere e marmellata di prugne. Ricetta di Cotto e Mangiato rimaneggiata.

Questo piatto ha una storia a sé. Premetto che io non ho mai mangiato né minestroni né passati di verdura in vita mia. Il massimo per me erano sagne e ceci.
Ho visto una puntata di Cuochi e fiamme e c'era Riccardo Rossi che si sdilinquiva per la zuppa di ceci fatta all'antica. Incuriosita e seguendo un po' le basi l'ho reinventata secondo i nostri gusti, ed è piaciuta ad entrambi, eccome se è piaciuta!!

This dish has a story in itself. I state that I have ever eaten nor minestrone nor vegetable soup in my life. I saw an episode of Chefs and flames and there was Riccardo Rossi who praised the chickpea soup made in the traditional way. Intrigued and following the basics, I've reinvented it according to our tastes, and we both liked it, how much we liked it!

Di nuovo salata questa ricetta di Cotto e Mangiato: è la focaccia ripiena al prosciutto cotto. Semplice ma gustosa.
Again salty with this recipe from Cooked and Eaten: it's a focaccia filled with baked ham. Simple but tasty.

Anche quest'ultima ricetta del mese di gennaio è di Cotto e Mangiato: l'ho fatta da portare ad un pranzo da un'amica il cui marito era ossessionato da una torta alle mele con la base di sfoglia che mangiava sempre quando stava in Francia. Quando l'ha assaggiata era quasi commosso: era proprio quella che andava cercando. Che bello fare felice un amico, no?
This last recipe of January is from Cooked and Eaten too: I did it to bring a lunch with a friend whose husband was obsessed with an apple pie with a pastry base that he always ate when he was in France . When he tasted it he was almost touched: it was just what he wanted. How can feel you good making a friend happy?

Sempre a proposito di gennaio, ho ripreso a ricamare e cucire, anche se sono stata piuttosto impegnata e ho portato a termine solo due coperte nuove, una per il letto e una che fungesse da copridivano.
Speaking of January, I restarted to stitch and quilt, although I was quite busy and I have just completed two new blankets, one for the bedroom and one as a sofa cover.

I saluti toccano oggi a Ronny che, dopo essersi subito appropriata del copridivano qui e qui, ha dovuto "marcare" come suo anche la coperta per il letto. Alla prossima!

L'Epifania tutte le feste si porta via? Non nel mio caso perché per me continuano fino a lunedì prossimo. 10, giorno del mio ...esimo compleanno. Devo ammettere che, nonostante non avessi per niente spirito natalizio quest'anno, le feste son passate piacevolmente, e decisamente in fretta. Forse perché non ho fatto altro che cucinare!

Epiphany takes away all the holidays? Not in my case because they continue for me until next Monday, 10th, my birthday. Although I did not have any Christmas spirit this year, I must admit the holidays have passed pleasantly, and actually too quickly. Maybe because I've done nothing but cook!
A questo proposito, vi mostro l'ultima ricetta cucinata nell'ultimo giorno dell'anno 2010: i biscotti della foresta. Le formine sono by Ikea (potevo farmi sfuggire un set che contenesse la forma della renna?!) e un paio di straforo; la ricetta è di Elga, presente su G2Kitchen numero 1.
In this regard, I show you the latest new recipe tested on the last day of 2010: woodland cookies. The molds are by Ikea (could I miss a set that contains the shape of the reindeer?) and another pair in woodland theme, the recipe is from Elga, published into G2Kitchen #1.

Non poteva mancare l'ultimo pranzo di fine feste (mica mi metto a spignattare il giorno del mio compleanno, si esce a cena, eh!). E naturalmente ho provato una ricettina nuova: cornetti salati al gorgonzola, al prosciutto cotto e fontina e al prosciutto crudo ed emmenthal.

We could not miss the last lunch at the end of the holidays (certainly I will not cook on my birthday, we'll go out for dinner!). And, of course, I tried a new recipe: savory croissants with gorgonzola, with baked ham and fontina cheese and with ham and Emmentaler.

Questo è uno dei miei piatti preferiti: tagliatelle alla boscaiola. Peccato che non le faccio mai perché il moroso è convinto che non gli piacciono i funghi porcini. Figuratevi che quando ho visto che faceva fatica a finire la pasta, gliel'ho sfilata da sotto il naso dicendo: "Non ti preoccupare, amore, ti rifarai con il secondo, questa me la finisco io stasera, e... molla quella forchettata di pasta!".
This is one of my favorite dishes: tagliatelle with mushrooms. I usually don't cook it because my fiance is convinced that he does not like mushrooms.

Questa deliziosa arista meritava una foto a parte (seguite il link testuale): l'ho cucinata un po' sul gas e un po' sul forno, avvolgendola con tante buone fette di pancetta. Devo dire che è venuta davvero tenerissima, e le patate al forno non sfigurano mai.
This delicious pork roast with bacon deserves a specific photo (follow the linked text): I cooked a bit on the gas and a bit on the oven, wrapping it in a lot of good bacon. I must say it came really tender and the roasted potatoes are always appetizing.

Per dolce ho servito una trecciona alla Nutella ed una (deforme) alle pesche sciroppate. Questa ricetta di Marble l'ho sperimentata per la prima volta, e siccome amo il pericolo ho voluto fare la variante con le pesche sciroppate non prevista dalla ricetta originale. Il sapore è buono per entrambe, nonostante la forma poco invitante della seconda, che ha lievitato decisamente troppo.
For dessert I served a large braid with Nutella and one (deformed) with peaches in syrup. This recipe from Marble I experienced for the first time, and because I love the danger I wanted to make a variant with the peaches in syrup not included by the original recipe. The flavor is good for both, despite the uninviting shape of the second, which has risen too much.

Validissimi aiutanti in queste mie avventure culinarie sono stati questi tre nuovi attrezzi: un leggio gattoso per il ricettario (potevo farmelo sfuggire?!), un portamestoli frufru e la nuova pinza siliconata.
Extremely helpful in my culinary adventures were these three new tools: a cat shaped lectern gattoso for recipes' books (I could let me miss it?), a chic ladle and the new silicone tongle.

Passato bene il Natale? Io son stata due giorni ai fornelli, ma poi il pranzo di Natale l'ho praticamente potuto fare "con i piedi sotto il tavolo". Le uniche due cose che ho fatto all'ultimo momento è stato il primo e questa sfiziosa ricetta di Sara: i salatini alle olive, ultraveloci e ultrabuoni. Volete che vi mostri qualcosa?

Have you had a good Christmas day? I was two days cooking in the kitchen, but at Christmas day I relaxed during the lunch as everything was already done. The only two things I did at the moment was the first dish and this tasty recipe from Sara: the savory appetizers with olives, ultrafast and ultragood. Do you want me to show you something?
La sera della Vigilia ho provato a fare questa ricetta di Cotto e Mangiato: le tagliatelle alle sogliole. Molto delicate, pure troppo, la prossima volta le rinforzerò un po'.
Christmas Eve I tried this recipe from Cooked and Eaten: tagliatelle with soles. Very delicate, yet too much, the next time I will strengthen them a bit.

Il giorno di Natale, visto che avevo cucinato gran parte dei piatti in anticipo, mi son lanciata a fare i salatini alle olive di Sara, e questi non hanno bisogno di essere ritoccati: sfiziosissimi!
On Christmas day, since I had cooked most meals in advance, I made these savory appetizers with olives, a ricipe from Sara, and they do not need to be adjusted: delicious!

Questa invece era la prima portata, un classico: tagliatelle al salmone. Ovviamente, per il fidanzato che non mangia pesce, al ragù.
This was the first dish, a classic pasta with salmon. Of course, fot my fiance who does not eat fish, tagliatella with meat sauce.

Per secondo ho fatto un piatto tradizionale, natalizio, invernale... ma và: vitello tonnato!
For the second dish I made a traditional, winter, Christmas dish... not at all: veal with tuna sauce!

A quel punto "eravamo arrivati" e abbiamo concluso con ananas all'amaretto e caffè, senza neanche aprire il panettone. In compenso, erano i regali a dover essere aperti.
Li ho suddivisi per genere, questi sono quelli handmade: in alto a sinistra i portaspezie e un gattino stilizzato fatti da mio papà; sulla sinistra, cuscinetto, scatola e forbicine ricevuti dalla cara Elena; sulla destra due graziosissimi ornamenti per l'albero fatti da Martina.
Grazie mille, sono tutti oggetti bellissimi!
I have divided them by gender, these are handmade: the spice racks in the upper left and a kitten stylized made from my dad, on the left; pincushion, box and scissors received from Elena; on the right are two lovely ornaments for the xmas tree made by my dear Martina. Mi "porto avanti" facendovi ora gli auguri, prima di essere definitivamente travolta dai preparativi in cucina, e dalla cura di Nanà. Ebbene sì, la signorina s'è presa un signor raffreddore e in questi giorni è in quarantena: il veterinario l'ha visitata e fortunatamente non ha altre patologie, ma la medicina non stava facendo effetto e l'ha cambiata. Così ogni tanto la vado a trovare al piano di sotto e le faccio un po' di coccoline. Auguri a voi tutte!

I wish you Merry Christmas now, before being finally overwhelmed by the preparations in the kitchen, and the care of Nanà. Yes, my little black cat has a big cold and these days she is in quarantine: the vet has visited her and fortunately she has no other diseases, but the medicine was not doing its effect and he has changed it. Quest'anno la mia creatività è andata letteralmente in letargo, a causa di alcuni malesseri che ancora non risolvo del tutto. Da quest'autunno ho cominciato a stare meglio e si è canalizzata verso la sperimentazione di nuove ricette, complici la rubrica della Parodi e il blog di Sara.
Spero che abbiate già mangiato, altrimenti questo tour culinario vi farà venire una fame lupigna.

This year, my creativity has literally gone into hibernation, because of some ills that still I don't solve at all. From this autumn I started to feel better and it is self-channeled toward experimenting new recipes, thanks of the book of Parodi and Sara's blog. I hope you've already eaten, otherwise this culinary photographic tour will be you to grow a ravenous hunger.

Cerco sempre di cucinare secondo il periodo dell'anno, quindi diverse ricette contengono mele, pere e cioccolato. Ci sono anche dei piatti "salati, ma i dolci faranno da padrone. Che dite, partiamo?
La primissima ricetta che ho provato a fare, e da cui è partito l'input creativ-culinario è questa crostata di pere, che io ho modificato leggermente facendola di pere e mele aromatizzate al limone. Ricetta di Cotto e Mangiato.
I always try to cook following the season, so many recipes include apples, pears and chocolate. There will be also savory dishes, but sweets will be the master. Let's start?

Questa è una mia ricetta: io adoro il petto di pollo e un giorno mi sono inventata questo sughetto, davvero delizioso.
This is my recipe: I love the chicken breast and one day I invented this sauce, really delicious...

Ognuno fa l'insalata di riso a modo proprio: io ci metto prosciutto cotto a dadini, cipolline, olive verdi e nere, tonno... insomma, quello che ho a disposizione, condita rigorosamente con olio extravergine.
Everyone makes the rice salad in her own way: I put diced baked ham, little onions, green and black olives, tuna... what I have available in the fridge, rigorously dressed with extravergin olive oil.

Una ricetta base semplicissima per decorazioni a piacere: confetti di cioccolato ricoperti, panna montata, foglie di cioccolato, codette... questa è la mousse al cioccolato di Cotto e Mangiato.
A basic recipe for simple decorations at your taste: coated chocolate candies, whipped cream, chocolate leaves... this is the chocolate mousse from Cooked and Eaten.

Questo è stato un mio esperimento riuscito: una procedimento davvero elementare con pasta sfoglia surgelata e mele cotte in zucchero e cannella.
This was one of my successful experiments: a very elementary procedure with frozen puff pastry and apples cooked in sugar and cinnamon.

Avevo delle banane maturissime che il fidanzato non si sarebbe più mangiato e una sera ho cercato una ricetta che mi permettesse di sfruttarle per una torta. Nessuna mi convinceva appieno e alla fine ho preso un po' qua e un po' là e ne è venuta fuori una torta che "non si sa bene di che sa, ma sa proprio di buono", testuali parole di tutti quelli che l'hanno assaggiata.
I had some ripe banana that my fiance would not have eaten more and one night I looked for a recipe that would allow me to use them for a cake. None fully convinced me and I finally got "a bit here and a little there" and what has come off was a cake that "it tastes really good", exact words of those who have tasted ignoring what was inside.

Ahi ahi, esperimento fallito: ho seguito la ricetta di Cotto e Mangiato pedissequamente ma nessuno l'ha gradita, così molliccia e caramellosa. Io e le ricette francesi non andiamo d'accordo: mentre la stavo preparando, ho pure sbagliato il verso delle mele, così è venuta due volte rovesciata.
Ahi, Ahi, failed experiment: I slavishly followed the recipe from Cooked and Eaten, but nobody liked it, so soggy and caramel. French recipes and I do not get along: while I was preparing it, I also put the apples at wrong side, so I made it twice overturned.

La ricetta di Cotto e Mangiato di questa pasta allo zafferano era un po' debole, così l'ho rinforzata secondo i nostri gusti: appetitosa!
The recipe from Cooked and Eaten of this pasta with saffron was a bit weak, so I reinforced it according to our tastes: yummy!

La prima ricetta di Sara che ho provato a fare sono state queste chioccioline alle mele. Solo al terzo tentativo ce l'ho fatta, colpa del lievito di birra che ha fatto un po' i capricci. Ieri ne ho fatto anche una leggera variante mettendoci pure la granella di nocciole.
The first recipe of Sara I've tried to make were these apple snails. Only at the third attempt I "won", due to the yeast. Yesterday I also made a slight variation putting the chopped hazelnuts.

Questa è la mia ricetta di Cotto e Mangiato preferita! Cornetti alla Nutella ultra veloci da mangiare caldi.
This is my favorite recipe from Cooked and Eaten! Ultra fast croissants with Nutella to be eaten warm.

Altra ricetta deliziosa di Sara: la torta al caffè e cioccolato, dal gusto finissimo.
Another delicious recipe from Sara: the coffee and chocolate cake, a very delicate flavor.

La ricetta base è di Cotto e Mangiato ma poi l'ho un po' modificata: invece di farli fritti (mi è bastata la prima volta, ora di sera ancora non li digerivo) li ho preparati al forno e al suo interno ho aggiunto fettine di prosciutto, sia cotto sia crudo.
The basic recipe is from Cooked and Eaten but I've changed it a bit: instead of fried them (tasty but hard to swallow) I have prepared them in the oven and inside I added slices of ham.

Con il ragù avanzato dalla ricetta precedente, ho fatto queste tagliatelle, davvero gustose.
With the sauce left over from the previous recipe, I made these tagliatelle, really tasty.

Anche questa ricetta di Sara prevedeva il lievito di birra, ma mi è riuscita "al primo colpo": l'ho personalizzata preferendo alla crema pasticcera un interno con le mele.
Although this recipe from Sara provided the yeast, but I have made "at the first time": I preferred to custom the interior with apples instead of custard.

Ricetta stagionale di Cotto e Mangiato: torta con le pere. Devo dire che è piaciuta, ma forse rimane troppo umida.
Cooked and Eaten's seasonal recipe: cake with pears. I must say people liked it, but perhaps it results too wet.

Questa è la prima ricetta di G2kitchen che provo: girelle alla Nutella. Biscotti un po' laboriosi, nel senso che si cominciano a preparare il giorno prima e si cuociono il giorno dopo, sono perfetti per l'inzuppo, rimanendo compatti ma morbidi da mordere.
This is the first recipe I try from G2kitchen: swivels with Nutella. Biscuits a bit hard-working, (you begin to prepare the day before and baked the next day) they are perfect for soaking, as they remain compact but soft to bite.

Concludo degnamente questa carrellata con questa bella ricetta di Sara: muffins all'arancia e mandorle. Qualcuna di voi riesce ad indovinare su cosa poggia il piatto?

Stanotte ha nevicato... purtroppo! Temo che la "magia" della neve s'esaurisca il giorno in cui prendi la patente, e per inciso io l'ho presa il 22 Dicembre di tanti anni fa con neve e ghiaccio per terra.

Stento a crederci ma le foto più vecchie relative ai libri risalgono a marzo, sono veramente scandalosa! Da quale cominciare? Sono davvero tante... Vabbè, cercherò di fare una suddivisione per tematiche: libri di narrativa e libri creativi, partiamo da questi ultimi.
Nella prima foto Sweet Nursery Chic, di Susan Cousineau: bellissimo, ricco di progetti deliziosi, consigliato; il secondo, The International School of Sugarcraft book 1, è di decorazione e cucina mentre il terzo è di stitchery, dall'autrice di Bareroots, Quilt a Gift: progetti carini, alcuni molto, altri meno.
Stavo pensando... spesso acquisto alla cieca questi libri creativi perché è difficile avere un'idea chiara del contenuto effettivo del libro, per capire se incontra davvero il nostro interesse oppure non fa per noi. Vi interesserebbero dei blog tour sui libri che acquisto, con una piccola galleria fotografica dei migliori progetti presenti nel libro ed una recensione personale del libro?

I can hardly believe it but the older photos on the books are dated March 2010, shame on me! From where I can start? There are so many ... Oh well, I will proceed by subjects: books of fiction and creative books, let's start with the last named.
In the first picture Sweet Nursery Chic, by Susan Cousineau: beautiful, full of delightful projects, recommended!; the second one, The International School of Sugarcraft Book 1, is about decoration and kitchen while the third is a stitchery book by the author of Bareroots, Quilt a Gift: nice projects, fews very nice, others less.
I was thinking... often I blindly purchase these creative books because it is difficult to have a clear idea of the actual content of the book, to check if it really meets our interests or does not. Are you interested in blog tours about the books I buy, with a small photo gallery of the best projects included and a personal review of the book?

Button! was a pleasant surprise, even if it is more an inspirational book from which draw ideas, while I have discovered a few pages in preview of Appliqué Outside the Lines, and also the authors are well known by me.

Di Oilcloth Inspirations non sapevo granché e difatti non ci sono progetti di mio interesse (lo trovate in vendita a metà prezzo qui); Pretty Little Mini Quilts è stata una delusione totale mentre ho molto apprezzato la gran parte dei progetti di Whip-up's Miniature Quilts, tra cui in particolare quello in copertina di Kellie Wulfsohn.
Of Oilcloth Inspirations I did not know much and in fact there are not interesting projects for me; Pretty Little Mini Quilts has been a total disappointment but I very much enjoyed most of the projects into Whip-up's Miniature Quilts, in particular the one on the cover which is by Kellie Wulfsohn.

Questi due li ho presi su Pomadour's Craft Cafe, un delizioso negozietto di ebay che tratta solo materiale giapponese e Megumi è sempre gentilissima e veloce ad inviare: Eraser stamp design collection è dedicato alla tecnica dello stamping handmade con la gomma incisa, mentre Anne of Green Gables Quilt Room è una vera chicca per chi, come me, ai suoi tempi si è letta tutti e sei i libri di Anna dai capelli rossi, delizioso!

Acquisto corposo in tutti i sensi, in questa foto: Doodle Stitching è una meravigliosa collezione di soggetti stitchery suddivisi per tematiche, realizzati da un'autrice che è sempre all'altezza, meglio anche del primo libro a mio avviso; The Natural Wedding Book l'ho preso un po' alla cieca e ancora non posso dirmi che mi convinca, però ci sono degli spunti interessanti per un matrimonio handmade; Around the Corner Crochet Borders non è stata una sorpresa invece, essendo evidente che è anch'essa una collezione di bordi realizzati all'uncinetto, e d'altronde conoscevo l'autrice dal precedente libro già in mio possesso; Cool Girls Quilt è pieno pieno di progetti deliziosi a quilting, bello.

Ho approfittato del 30% di sconto promozionale per lo sbarco di Amazon in Italia (e lo rifarò a brevissimo) prendendo il mattone Il quinto giorno di Frank Schätzing, di cui avevo già apprezzato Il diavolo nella cattedrale, e la continuazione delle avventure di Sherlock Holmes, di cui avevo letto il primo volume.
Last in order of appearance, of purchase and arrival, Noël en fête is what I expected from previous books on the so-called "Scandinavian crafting": full of ideas and techniques very sweet, it is really nice. With this mixed picture the baton passes to the "books of fiction". I have purchased The Swarm by Frank Schätzing, author I appreciated after Death and the Devil, and the second collection of Sherlock Holmes adventures.

Questi li ho letti tutti: Strega. Cronache dal mondo di Oz in rivolta è moolto particolare ed intrigante; Il mio caro Dexter è uno dei volumi su cui si basa il notorio telefilm (mitico!) e il mio giudizio su questo libro non può essere che di parte; anche da Il prezzo del sangue hanno tratto un telefilm ma i cinque libri sono scritti molto meglio, anche se non si può dire lo stesso della correzione di bozza italiana; infine, Il nipote del negus è uno dei romanzi storici di Andrea Camilleri, non il migliore a mio avviso ma comunque godibile e dissacrante.
I read them all: Wicked. The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West is very distinctive and intriguing; Dearly Devoted Dexter is one of the volumes on which the well-known TV series (great!) is based on and my opinion on this book isn't objective; even by Price Blood drew a TV show but the five books are written much better, even if I cannot say the same of the Italian proofreading; and finally, The Grandson of Negus is one of the historical novels of Andrea Camilleri, not the best in my opinion but enjoyable and irreverent.

Ho letto invece l'intera di trilogia di Larsson, libri altrettando consigliati con l'unica avvertenza che il terzo va letto subito dopo il secondo, per non perdersi nelle miriadi di intrighi e nomi. Prova d'appello invece è debole e ho trovato il protagonista presuntuoso.

I have already read instead the entire trilogy of Larsson, recommended too with the only warning that the third volume should be read immediately after the second one, to not getting lost between the myriad of intrigues and names. Proof of Appeal is rather weak and I found the protagonist presumptuous.

... and the cookbook of Benedetta Parodi, who may be cloying and saccharine, but she, and Sara, made me want to come back cooking, and then rewards to who have them. The previous volume, Cooked and Eaten, it seemed more consistent, but this is still under investigation, although the croissants with Nutella in the first book remain in my heart (and hips). Summer 2010 - Home shopping and improvements

Continuo con i miei post chilometrici sull'estate appena trascorsa, e come promesso ecco la parte che riguarda la casa: piccoli o grandi acquisti, approfittando di varie offerte e/o promozioni, di cui uno che non potevo procrastinare oltre: l'armadio per la camera. Partiamo proprio da questo: dopo il 2007, dalla ristrutturazione cioè, non ho più avuto un armadio vero e proprio in camera, giacché quello originale era troppo grande e rovinato dietro ed è stato quindi smantellato. Alla fine (!!) mi son decisa, e l'abbiamo acquistato e montato.

I continue with my infininte posts about the summer just passed, and as promised here is the part about the house: small or large purchases, taking advantage of various offers and/or promotions, one could not been procrastinated further: the wardrobe fot my bedroom. Let's start with this: after 2007, the year of restructuring, I have not had a real wardrobe, since the original was too big and ruined back, and it was then dismantled. At the end (!) I have chosen one, and we have purchased and installed it.

Altro acquisto doverso e improcrastinabile son state delle nuove sedie per lo studio: queste sono quelle che mi son piaciute di più, con una bella seduta comoda in paglia, uno schienale della giusta altezza e un vezzo country. I cuscini li ho presi all'ex Castorama di Pescara, in svendita. Nanà le ha inaugurate subito.
Another improcrastinabile purchase were these new chairs for the study: these are the ones that I've liked the most, with a nice comfortable thatched sitting, a back of the right height and a country look. New puffy pillows too. Nana has suddenly used it.

Sempre per la casa, anche per il mio personale piacere e gusto, ecco gli acquisti fatti in questi mesi da Pandora, un delizioso negozietto shabby chic scovato per caso a Sulmona. E se volete farvi un giretto virtuale nelle sue meraviglie, in questo post di Gilda trovate un po' di belle foto.
Devo ringraziare la mia amica Elena che mi ha fatto scoprire la Luxe Lodge, questa linea di porcellane americane regalandomene ben due esemplari lo scorso Natale.
In ordine cronologico, al primo acquisto ho approfittato dei saldi e ho preso questa meravigliosa teiera, e un paio di altre cosette.
Also for the home, even for my personal pleasure and taste, let me show the purchases I've made in recent months by Pandora, a beautiful shabby chic store discovered by chance in Sulmona. And if you want to make a virtual tour in its wonders, Gilda has posted some beautiful pictures.
I have to thank my friend Elena, who gifted me two items of Luxe Lodge, this beautiful American porcelains last Christmas. In chronological order, in the first purchase I took advantage of sales and I got this wonderful teapot, two dotted chicken candles, a bird ornament and a ladybug magnet.

Anche per il secondo acquisto ho approfittato della promozione su queste fantastiche tazze, ma avevo poco tempo e non mi sono potuta trattenere di più (fortunatamente per il mio portafoglio).
Also for the second purchase I took advantage of promotions on these fantastic cups, but I had no time and I have not been able to staymore (fortunately for my wallet).

Al terzo acquisto avevo decisamente più tempo e me la sono scialata guardando e riguardando ogni articolo: ho trovato le miniterrine della stessa linea delle tazze, erano le ultime e mi hanno fatto un ulteriore sconto, poi ho preso l'appendino in resina con i gatti che avevo già precedentemente puntato, due portauova che non avevo, un delizioso uccellino invernale in resina e non poteva mancare un pezzo della linea di porcellane americane.
On the third purchase I had much more time and enjoyed myself watching at each article: I found the mini cups of the same line of the dotted cups (they were the last ones and Ihave received a further discount); then I got the hook in resin with cats I had previously pointed to, two egg cups I hadn't, a delicious resin winter bird and... I could not miss a piece of the line of English porcelains, could I?

Cambiando genere, in questa foto ci sono un paio di acquisti fatti alla mia "prima visita" alla famosa Ikea, avvenuta a Maggio mentre ero su. Poche utili cose, alla giusta qualità e al giusto prezzo, e poi il cutter per i biscotti a forma di renna è bellissimo!

Changing gender, in this picture there are a couple of purchases I made at my 'first visit to the famous Ikea, which occurred in May. A few useful things at the right quality and right price, and the cookie cutter in the shape of reindeer isn't beautiful?!

Ultimo piccolo acquisto: questa simpaticissima balenottera portasapone. Mette allegria solo a guardarla.
Last small purchase: a very cute whale soap. It brings fun just looking at it.

Veniamo ora ai miglioramenti/abbellimenti. Quello più vecchio, che non avevo ancora postato (che scandalo!) è questa mensola ad angolo per la cucina: finalmente un posto dove mettere tutti i ricettari e le spezie!
Now time for the home improvements. The oldest one, I had not yet posted (shame on me!), is this corner shelf for the kitchen: finally a place where I can put all the recipe books and the spices!

Sempre mensole ma questa volta fatte da mio padre su mia indicazione: questa è per la sala (ma il quilt è temporaneo, ne farò uno nuovo... suggerimenti?)...
Again shelves, but this time they are made by my father on my request: this is for the dining room (but the quilt is temporary, I'll make a new one... suggestions?)...

Summer 2010 - Shopping, stash, gifts and subscriptions

Questo sarà un post un po' tedioso: vi mostro un po' di cosine che mi sono state regalate, che mi sono regalata, che ho regalato e altre, infine, arrivate per abbonamento. I miei amati libri fanno sempre la parte del leone, meritando un post a parte, così pure gli acquisti per la casa; trovate tutte le foto al completo sul mio album online.
This post will be a bit tedious: I'll show you some things I've been gifted by people and by myself, gifts I made and subscriptions' arrivals. My beloved books always get the most part, deserving a separate post, as well as the purchases I've made for my home; you'll find all the other photos on my online album.

Prima parte: regali fatti (agli altri).
Questi due pacchetti, simili ma con qualche piccola differenza, sono state due "coccole" a sorpresa per la mie due amiche Beatrice e Martina, entrambe in dolce attesa al momento dell'arrivo (ma la prima ha già partorito).
Giacché, di solito, le neomamme si vedono dirottate tutte le attenzioni verso il neonato, ho voluto coccolarle con questi dolcetti abruzzesi e una fragolina cucita.

1st part: gifts made (to others).
These two packages, similar but with little differences, were "surprise cuddlings" for my two friends Beatrice and Martina, both pregnant at the time of arrival (but the first has already given birth). Since, typically, all the attentions are diverted from mothers towards the baby, I wanted to cuddle them with these sweets from Abruzzo and a sewn strawberry.

Ho acquistato questa borsa per la mia bridge all'Ipercoop di Avezzano ad un prezzo stracciato, circa 10 euro: ho girato un sacco di negozi, supermercati e negozi online, e borse di queste dimensioni e con tutte queste comode tasche, costavano uno sproposito. Un vero colpo di fortuna!
I bought this bag for my bridge at Ipercoop in Avezzano at a bargain price, around 10 €: I ooked for it in a lot of shops, supermarkets and online retailers, and camera bags, of this size and with all these handy pockets, cost a blunder. What a stroke of luck!

Terza parte: regali ricevuti e altri arrivi.
Come già vi raccontavo in un post precedente, ho ricevuto diverse piacevoli visite quest'estate, e tutti hanno avuto un pensiero per me. Manuela e i suoi bimbi mi hanno fatto tutti questi regali. Non solo: a Maggio mi ha regalato anche questo splendido termometro da parete della Thun, che ho appeso solo quest'estate in bagno perché avevo paura a riportarmelo in treno. Oss, Manu.

3rd part: gifts received and other arrivals.
As already told you in a previous post, I received several nice visits this summer, and everyone had a thought for me. Manuela and her children have gifted me all these cute items:a cat bag, a date, a wooden little kitten and two summer pijamas. Not only: in May she also gifted me this beautiful Thun wall thermometer, I hung it only this summer in my bathroom because I was afraid to bring it back by train.

Mio fratello e la sua compagna mi ha procurato questo particolare accendino a fiamma fissa chiamato "Dumbo": utilissimo, anche se bisogna farci un po' attenzione.
My brother and his partner gave me this particular fixed flame lighter called "Dumbo": very useful, although I have to put a little attention.

Questa sciarpa me l'ha regalata la moglie di mio cugino, Carolina: è una sciarpa fatta a mano con i prodotti locali da un'associazione di sole donne chiamata "Manos del Uruguay". Soffice e calda, e pure nei colori che piacciono a me: grazie, cugina!
