Wednesday's SBQ is:
For those of you that stitch while riding in the car or on the train, how do you cope with the bumps and the motion? Do you have any tips for others?
My answer:
Well, there's not rules but I can quote some tips I have personally tested.
§ First of all, I suggest to stitch simple works, with large blocks of solid colors; the best thing is to prepare the work stitching the edges of the blocks. So you'll simply fille the block and you'll not have to keep the chart under the eyes.
§ I also suggest works on bigger fabrics, no more than 32 count.
§ Avoid backstitch: it requires precision and attention.
§ Use only needles with round toes. A sharpen needle could prick you with bumps. Also avoid the smallest needles.
§ Beads and embellishments are ill judged, obviously.
§ Wash your hands before leaving.
§ Avoid to stitch during tortuous paths...
At the end, the beginning advice is the main one: stitch simple works.
